2,2'-Bipyrimidinium hexachlororhenate(IV) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, (C₈H₈N₄)[ReCl₆]·2H₂O, the Re atom occupies an inversion centre and is octahedrally coordinated by chloride anions. The cation also has an inversion centre. Various N-HO, O-HCl and C-HCl interactions help to stabilize the crystal packing.
