2-Hydroxy-2'-(4-isopropylbenzylidene)benzohydrazide

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₈N₂O₂, was synthesized by the reaction of 2-hydroxybenzoylhydrazine with 4-isopropylbenzaldehyde in ethanol. The molecule is non-planar and the dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 21.9  (2)°. The crystal structure involves intermolecular O-HO and intramolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds.
