Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C₁₅H₂₁O₃)₂(C₃H₆OS)₂], is a powerful charge-control agent used widely for toners in electrophotography. This Zn^II complex has no molecular symmetry and possesses a deformed tetrahedral coordination geometry. Two 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzoate ligands serve as monodentate ligands, while two dimethyl sulfoxide molecules are coordinated to the Zn atom.
