O]bis(dimethyl sulfoxide-
O)zinc(II)Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C15H21O3)2(C3H6OS)2], is a powerful charge-control agent used widely for toners in electrophotography. This ZnII complex has no molecular symmetry and possesses a deformed tetrahedral coordination geometry. Two 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzoate ligands serve as monodentate ligands, while two dimethyl sulfoxide molecules are coordinated to the Zn atom.
