Abstract: The title compound, [Cu₂Br₄(C₅H₄N₂O₃)₂], is a centrosymmetric dimer that contains a central planar Cu₂O₂ rhombus with the O atom of the N-oxide group bridging two Cu atoms [Cu-O-Cu = 109.08  (19)° and O-Cu-O = 70.92  (19)°]. The two-dimensional sheet structure is built up via semi-coordinate intermolecular CuBr bonds [3.226  (1) and 3.810  (1)  Å] and weak hydrogen bonding [CBr = 3.733  (7), 3.781  (7) and 3.830  (7)  Å].
