Potassium bis([mu]-sulfato-1[kappa]O:2[kappa]O')bis[cis-dioxido-cis-bis(sulfato-[kappa]O)tungstate(VI)]

S. J. C. Schäffer and R. W. Berg

Abstract: The title compound, K8[{WVIO2(SO4)2}2([mu]-SO4)2], precipitated from a melt of tungsten trioxide and potassium sulfate in potassium pyrosulfate. The WVI coordination sphere in the independent K4[WVIO2(SO4)3] moiety is completed by inversion symmetry, resulting in a dimer with two bridging sulfate ligands and a unit cell with two dimeric units.
