3-[(2-Hydroxyphenyl)amino]-1-phenylbut-3-en-1-one ethanol solvate

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₆H₁₅NO₂·C₂H₅OH, has been synthesized by the reaction of benzoylacetone with 2-aminophenol in ethanol. The enaminone structure is stabilized by a strong intramolecular hydrogen bond (N-HO=C), while the one-dimensional infinite chain in the [010] direction is formed by the intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bond between the enaminone and the ethanol solvent molecule.
