Dichlorobis(3,5-dimethylpyrazole)copper(II)

Abstract: The title compound, [CuCl₂(C₅H₈N₂)₂], has been synthesized as part of a project aimed at the synthesis and characterization of scorpionate ligands with cyano substituents. The structure shows the Cu ion coordinated by two 3,5-dimethylpyrazole ligands and two chloride ligands in a tetrahedral coordination geometry.
