Aquabis(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')(2-sulfobenzoato-O)manganese(II) trihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Mn(C₇H₄O₅S)(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)]·3H₂O, the Mn^II atom displays an octahedral MnN₄O₂ configuration, defined by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, one carboxyl O atom belonging to a 2-sulfobenzoate dianion and one aqua O atom. O-HO hydrogen bonds involving 2-sulfobenzoate dianions, aqua ligands and uncoordinated water molecules link the mononuclear units into a three-dimensional network structure.
