Abstract: In the title compound, [NiCl2(C7H9N)4], where C7H9N is 3,5-lutidine, the NiII atom is coordinated by two Cl atoms and four N atoms from 3,5-lutidine groups. The geometry around the NiII atom, which is located at a special position of symmetry 422, is octahedral. Molecules of the title compound are connected by C-H
Cl intermolecular hydrogen bonds and C-H
interactions to form a three-dimensional structure.
