10-Amino-9-(4-bromophenyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-3,4,5,6,9,10-hexahydroacridine-1,8(2H,7H)-dione

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₃H₂₇BrN₂O₂, has been synthesized by the reaction of 3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-9-(4-bromophenyl)-1,8-dioxo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydroanthene with hydrazine in alcohol under microwave irradiation. X-ray analysis reveals that the dihydropyridine ring adopts a boat conformation.
