Abstract: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₈O₅, was prepared by the condensation of 2-hydroxyacetophenone with 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde. The trimethoxyphenyl and hydroxyphenyl rings of the chalcone system are approximately coplanar.
