Tetrakis(-6-ammoniohexanoato-1O:2O')bis[chlorocopper(II)] dichloride tetrahydrate

Abstract: The title complex, [Cu₂(C₆H₁₃NO₂)₄Cl₂]Cl₂·4H₂O, has a centrosymmetric, dimeric and dicationic tetracarboxylatodicopper(II) core with apical positions occupied by chloride. The positive charge is balanced by two non-coordinating chlorides that, together with four uncoordinated water molecules per dimeric unit, are involved in extensive hydrogen bonding, leading to a cohesive crystal structure.
