Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₂H₁₀O₃, there are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Both molecules are essentially planar and each features an intramolecular O-HO hydrogen bond between the hydroxy H atom and the carbonyl O atom. The crystal structure is stabilized by - stacking interactions.
