Abstract: The anionic component of the crystal structure of cubic langbeinite-type diammonium dimanganese(II) trisulfate(IV), (NH4)2Mn2(SO4)3, is a three-dimensional [Mn2(SO4)3]2- network based on SO4 tetrahedra corner-linked to MnIIO6 octahedra. The charge-balancing ammonium cations occupy the cavities in the network. The pairs of independent Mn and N atoms lie on special positions of site symmetry 3.
