Bis[tetrakis(methylsulfanyl)tetrathiafulvalenium] oxalate dichloride

Abstract: The title compound, 2C₁₀H₁₂S₈²⁺·C₂O₄^2-·2Cl^-, displays packing via hydrogen bonds. The oxalate anion possesses exact and approximate D_2h symmetry. Cationic columns of stacked donor molecules have weaker lateral interactions, forming layers. The Cl^- and C₂O₄^2- anions form anionic layers. The two layers alternate in the crystal structure.
