Abstract: The title compound, C₃₀H₅₀O₃, a lupane triterpene, was isolated from the leaves of Ceriops decandra (Griff.) Ding Hou. There are two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In both molecules, the cyclopentane ring adopts an envelope conformation. In the crystal structure, molecules are interconnected into a two-dimensional network by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds.
