2-(2-Nitrophenyl)-1H-benzimidazole

Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₃H₉N₃O₂, the dihedral angle between the benzimidazole moiety and the benzene ring is 40.08 (6)°. The molecules are linked into chains along the b axis by intermolecular N-HN hydrogen bonds. The chains are interlinked into a two-dimensional network by C-HO hydrogen bonds.
