Sarcosine ammonium nitrate

Abstract: In the title compound, C₃H₇NO₂·NH₄⁺·NO₃^-, the sarcosine zwitterions have an almost perfectly planar N-C-COO main chain and assemble in chains via hydrogen bonds. The ammonium and nitrate ions are arranged in sheets that alternate with sheets of sarcosine chains. The whole structure is stabilized by an extensive three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds.
