Diaqua(5-nitro-1H-benzimidazole-[kappa]N3)(oxydiacetato-[kappa]O,O',O'')cobalt(II) monohydrate

B.-Y. Zhang, J.-G. Liu and D.-J. Xu

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C4H4O5)(C7H5N3O2)(H2O)2]·H2O, the CoII atom is coordinated by one tridentate oxydiacetate dianion, one monodentate nitrobenzimidazole molecule and two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The face-to-face distance of 3.345 (14) Å between parallel nitrobenzimidazole ligands of neighboring complexes indicates the existence of [pi]-[pi] stacking.
