Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₆O₅, was isolated from the plant Lindera poliantha. The cyclopentenedione and phenyl rings are connected by the central C₃O fragment, which makes dihedral angles with these rings of 7.10 (6) and 16.24 (10)°, respectively.
