Abstract: The absolute configuration has been determined for the title compound, C₁₄H₁₈N₂O₆S, a fluorescent dipeptide analogue, which can act as a rigid backbone chromophore in peptides. Intermolecular N-HO=C hydrogen bonds [HO = 2.37 (2) Å] are observed in the crystal packing.
