Methanol(2-methyl-1H-imidazole-N³)(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato-³N,O,O')copper(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₇H₃NO₄)(C₄H₆N₂)(CH₄O)], the Cu atom lies in the centre of an N₂O₂ square plane, and the methanol molecule is apically coordinated. The coordination geometry is best described as distorted square-pyramidal. There are intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the crystal structure, which mediate the formation of layers.
