(2S)-2-(3-Benzoylthioureido)-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propionic acid

Abstract: The title compound, (2S)-2-(3-benzoylthioureido)-3-(1H-imidazolium-4-yl)propionate, C₁₄H₁₄N₄O₃S, is zwitterionic with protonated positively charged imidazoyl and deprotonated negatively charged carboxylate groups. The intermolecular hydrogen bonds, C-HO and N-HO, involve all the O atoms with the H atoms from the amine and imidazoylium, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the (100) plane.
