4-{[1-(1-Adamantyl)ethyl]iminomethyl}phenol

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₉H₂₅NO, a Schiff base, crystallized in the phenol-imine tautomeric form. The C=N bond length is 1.270 (3) Å and the bond length between the C atom of the aromatic ring and the C atom of the imine group is 1.460 (4) Å, which corresponds to a conjugated C=N group. In the crystal structure, a one-dimensional chain is formed via a strong intermolecular O-HN hydrogen bond.
