2-Aqua-bis(
2-trifluoroaceto-
2O,O')bis[bis(pyridine-
N)(trifluoroacetato-
O)cobalt(II)]Abstract: The title complex, [Co2(C2F3O2)4(C5H5N)4(H2O)], crystallizes as a neutral dinuclear molecule with two crystallographically distinct octahedrally coordinated CoII ions in the asymmetric unit. The metal ions are connected by two
2-bridging trifluoroacetate ions and a single
2-bridging water molecule. Each cobalt(II) coordination sphere is completed by a further trifluoroacetate ion, which coordinates in a monodentate manner, and also by two pyridine molecules, resulting in local cis-CoN2O4 coordination. The water molecule H atoms participate in intramolecular O-H
O hydrogen bonds to the pendant O atoms of the monodentate trifluoroacetate ligands.
