-L-rhamnopyranosylamine 1.5-hydrateAbstract: The title rhamnopyranosylamine, C13H19NO4·1.5H2O, was isolated as an intermediate in the Amadori rearrangement of L-rhamnose with p-toluidine. Two independent molecules and three water molecules of crystallization comprise the asymmetric unit, and these components are held together via extensive hydrogen-bonding interactions.
