Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C10H12N2O)2(ClO4)2], crystallizes as mononuclear molecules with distorted octahedral ZnII coordination. 3-Dimethylamino-l-(2-pyridyl)prop-2-enone ions are coordinated to ZnII as bidentate ligands, while the perchlorate ions are monodentate. The Zn atom lies on a centre of symmetry.
