-5-sulfonatoisophthalato-1:2
4O1,O1':O3,O3'-dicopper(II) perchlorate trihydrateAbstract: In the title compound, [Cu2(C8H3O7S)(C12H8N2)3(H2O)2]ClO4·3H2O, the 5-sulfonatoisophthalate trianion functions as a bridge between two Cu atoms to form an asymmetric dinuclear cation. One Cu atom is surrounded by four O atoms, two from a 5-sulfonatoisophthalate trianion and two from water ligands, and by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand. The second Cu atom is bound to two O atoms from a 5-sulfonatoisophthalate trianion and four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. Both copper centers have a distorted octahedral geometry.
