Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Zn(C40H24N8)]·1.6C2H4O2 has been determined at ca 110 K. The centrosymmetric metalloporphyrin compound forms a self-assembled honeycomb architecture, with open channels extending parallel to the c axis of the unit cell. The compound crystallizes as an acetic acid clathrate. The guest species, which are included in the interporphyrin channels, hydrogen bond to the porphyrin framework.
