Abstract: In the title compound, C17H14N2O2·0.5H2O, all bond lengths and angles are within normal ranges. The dihedral angle formed by the phenyl ring with the quinoline moiety is 27.30 (9)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-H
O, C-H
O and O-H
N hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water molecule.
