Abstract: Ezetimibe monohydrate or 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-3(R)-[3-(4-fluorophenyl)-3(S)-hydroxypropyl]-4(S)-(4-hydroxyphenyl)azetidin-2-one monohydrate, C24H21F2NO3·H2O, belongs to a class of agents that inhibit cholesterol absorption in the intestine. The solvent water molecule present in the structure is involved in several hydrogen bonds.
