Abstract: The title compound, {[Mg(C₂H₅NO₂)(H₂O)₄](NO₃)₂}_n, contains cis-MgO₂(H₂O)₄ octahedra, which are connected by the glycine molecules to form helical chains. It is isostructural with its cobalt and nickel analogues.
