Abstract: The title compound, C₁₉H₁₄F₆O₂S₂, a novel photochromic diarylethene, is one of the most promising candidates for optoelectric devices such as optical memories, photo-switches and waveguides. It adopts a photoactive anti-parallel conformation in the crystalline phase.
