Abstract: The title cocrystal, [PtCl(C₄HF₆)(C₁₈H₃₃P)₂], contains molecules with a random distribution of E and Z alkenyl isomers in essentially equal numbers. This is indicative of the isomerization of the E form of the Pt complex in the course of attempting to carry out a reaction between it and tricyclohexyltin 4-chlorobenzenethiolate in acetone as solvent.
