Abstract: The title compound, C₂₈H₂₈O₆S, is a protected fucose donor, synthesized as part of our investigations into the preparation of complex oligosaccharides. The benzoyl groups are equatorial and axial, while the thioether and ether groups are equatorial. The carboxylate O atoms form a number of intra- and intermolecular C-HO interactions.
