Abstract: In the title compound, C₂₃H₂₂ClNO, there are two independent molecules showing similar conformations, the tetrahydroindole ring system being approximately planar except for the dimethyl-substituted C atom. Molecules are linked via C-HO, C-H and C-HCl interactions, forming a sheet-like structure.
