6-Nitroquinolin-2(1H)-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₉H₆N₂O₃, is nearly planar, with maximum deviations from the mean plane of -0.024 (3) Å for the C atom para to the ring N atom and 0.048 (2) Å for one of the nitro O atoms. Three C-HO and one N-HO intermolecular hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.
