Abstract: The title compound, C17H21BrO6, was prepared by nucleophilic alkylation of 1-bromo-3,4-bis(bromomethyl)-2,5-dimethoxybenzene. It crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The bond lengths and angles are generally within the normal ranges. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak intermolecular C-H
O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H
(arene) interactions.
