Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C₅H₅)(C₁₃H₁₀NO₂)], has been synthesized by the Claisen condensation reaction of acetylferrocene and ethyl picolinate in the presence of sodium ethoxide. The enone structure is stabilized by a strong [OHO=C] intramolecular hydrogen bond.
