Abstract: The title compound [alternative name: pyridine-2-carbaldehyde 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone], C12H9N5O4, was prepared using pyridine-2-carbaldehyde and N-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)hydrazine. In the crystal structure, weak intermolecular C-H
O hydrogen-bonding interactions link adjacent molecules to form a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
