Dibutylbis(3-methylsulfanyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole-5-thiolato)tin(IV)

Abstract: In the title complex, [Sn(C₄H₉)₂(C₃H₃N₂S₃)₂], if weak SnN interactions are included, the central Sn^IV atom is situated in a skew-trapezoidal bipyramidal geometry, with the basal plane defined by two symmetrically chelating 3-methylmercapto-5-mercapto-1,2,4-thiadiazole ligands. The apical positions are occupied by two n-butyl groups. The complex shows a three-dimensional network structure assembled by intermolecular SS and CS non-bonded interactions.
