Z.-L. Chen, S.-B. Li, Z.-H. Qiu, Q.-F. Zeng and F.-P. Liang

Abstract: In the title compound, [Mn(H2O)6]Cl2·2C6H12N4·4H2O, each MnII atom, located on a centre of symmetry, is coordinated by six water molecules in a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) molecule does not coordinate to the Mn atom but links with the Mn complex via three O-H...N hydrogen bonds. The remaining N atom of the HMTA is hydrogen-bonded to the solvent water molecule.
