Abstract: The La atom is ten-coordinate in a capped square-antiprismatic geometry in the title polymeric chain structure, {[La(C₆H₅N₂O₂S)₃(H₂O)₂]·3H₂O}_n. Adjacent chains are linked by hydrogen bonds to give a layer structure.
