Abstract: The title compound, C7H9N3O2, crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The amide group lies almost in the pyrazine plane. Each molecule is linked to three other molecules by means of hydrogen bonds, giving rise to a ladder-like two-dimensional network. Adjacent two-dimensional networks are linked by hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional structure.
