[2.2]Dihydroisobenzothiophenophane

Abstract: In the unit cell of the title compound, 1¹,1³,4¹,4³-tetrahydro-1,4(4,7)-di(benzo[c]thiophena)cyclohexaphane, C₂₀H₂₀S₂, there are four independent but closely similar molecules, each with crystallographic inversion symmetry. The packing is interpreted in terms of layers formed via C-H interactions.
