Abstract: The synthesis and characterization of the title Cu^II complex, [Cu₂(C₁₁H₁₄N₂O₂)(C₁₁H₁₅N₂O₂)]ClO₄·CH₄O, is described. The reaction of salicylaldehyde and N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine with [Cu(ClO₄)₂]·6H₂O produced the binuclear Cu^II complex in which the adjacent Cu^II atoms are connected by a -O bridge. One of the Cu^II atoms is in an elongated square-pyramidal geometry and the other has a distorted square-planar geometry.
