Abstract: In the title compound, [Cd(H₂O)₆](C₁₅H₁₅O₂)₂·2H₂O, the hexaaquacadmium(II) cation possesses a crystallographically imposed centre of symmetry. In the crystal structure, the [Cd(H₂O)₆]²⁺ cations, 4-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propyl]phenolate anions and solvent water molecules are connected through a complex pattern of O-HO hydrogen bonds.
