Abstract: The title compound [systematic name: (6-methoxy-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-yl)morpholin-4-yl-methanone], C22H31NO3, was synthesized from natural podocarpic acid via amidation of the acid chloride derivative. The crystal structure shows that the morpholino ring adopts a full chair conformation, while the amide N-C bond has partial double-bond character.
