(2,2'-Diamino-4,4'-bi-1,3-thiazole-²N,N')bis(glycinato-²N,O)cobalt(II) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₂H₄NO₂)₂(C₆H₆N₂S)]·2H₂O, the Co^II ion (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by an N,N-bidentate diaminobithiazole ligand and two N,O-bidentate glycinate anions in a distorted octahedral geometry. The five-membered Co-glycinate ring displays an envelope conformation. A network of O-HO and N-HO hydrogen bonds helps to consolidate the crystal packing.
