Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₁₉NO₄S, an intermediate for the synthesis of the pentacyclic antitumour alkaloid camptothecin, has been crystallographically characterized. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
